ShellExView saves the day

shexviewFor months I was having major problems with my Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. It would crash every time I tried to view a folder with over 8,000 folders. Not only that, the system would hang at random times every few days. What I did to resolve this issue was to download the oldie but goodie application called ShellExView. After downloading this and extracting it to a folder on my desktop, I launched it and disabled all shell extensions that were not part of Microsoft and voila! No more crashes. Give it a shot if you’re experiencing problems with large folders in Windows 7!
